Targash Hills

The Targash Hills are the hills north of Ul-Targash. They contain the following:

The Portal to the Vortex

the portal to the vortex , formally know as "The trader's way of travelling.", stands 3 meters by 3 meters proud. It is located just outside the north gate, on a great hill. Not long ago this was an unstable portal, sucking anyone who entered it straight into unknown territory, or teleporting them to a random location somewhere on Heimr. When the mage guild found out about this (They had to remove a screaming soldier who was teleported half into one of their walls.) the called upon the powerful mages of Asgard to stabilize the portal. This led to the disappearance of the king and queen of Asgard together with several court mages. They however, in their last few moments on Heimr, did stabilized the gate by pointing it to a stable place outside of Heimr, they pointed it to the vortex .

The cave of truth

Just north of the city, under the hill with the portal is the cave of truth . It is a massive cave structure that can be entered from the north-east, trough a small hole in the side of the hill. The cave houses the true words of Talor , inscribed on the walls, faintly glowing. The words have been copied into Truth and describe the creation of the gods , the world, the races , and all other important events that happen before the lorekeepers started their holy order. The cave is guarded by 2 lorekeepers , and several trustworthy people from the High guard .

The tunnel of dead trolls.

A tunnel under the hills north of the city. It is however further north than the cave of truth and the portal to the vortex . It is dug by orc slaves (captured by trolls ) in days long past. The trolls used it as a means of transportation to avoid the hills and the used it to spring traps from underground, surprising travellers and wild beasts alike. When the city of Ul Targash learned about the exploit they filled the tunnel with water from both sides, drowning the trolls inside. The place has been a favourite spot for demon worship since then and several cults offer their services their. Legally. The place has been rumoured to be haunted, and several tales about undead or ghostly trolls exits, seeking and plotting revenge on all things in Ul Targash for drowning them, fueled by the dark magic of the cults .
