The scorching swamp

This swamp got its name because of the little flames dancing over it's surface. These flames are caused by the gasses and the heat that the fermenting plants and dead animals that litter the bottom of the swamp produce. At night this is a truly amazing sight to behold. Because the gasses burn as soon as they reach the surface, the smell in this part of the Great Western Marsh smell quite neutral and ocasionally even pleasant in comparision with the rest of the area.
