Feyfolk forms

Feyfolk don't stay the same shape their entire life. After about 4 to 12 years of living the feyfolk makes a choice to change and become another form. There are many Feyfolk forms and they are very varied. Some of the forms are documented here but there are rumoured to be more than a thousand different forms, not counting the unique one of a kind forms that are sometimes created in response to a certain very specific situation, wish or experiment.

Small forms

The following forms are smaller than half an average human. These forms can't usually be played by players as they are hard to physrep and are unintelligent (because of their small brains) and therefore usually not any fun to play.

Elder form

The elder form is a feyfolk that has remained the same form over the course of it's life. His task is to learn from as much explorer forms as possible. condensing the knowledge into one single entity. If they are old and wise enough they are invited to the communities council where they get the new task of teaching young feyfolk, advising them on the forms needed at the moment and making decisions for the community at large. Although the actual form is quite small (as physical prowess and movement are unneeded), they have larger "external brains" to harness all the knowledge they have gathered over the years. Sometimes they house in a hollowed out tree and are connected with the "walls" that house large neural networks containing their intellect.

Seed preserver form

This flying feyfolk form seeks out rare plant strains and transports them to other locations in an attempt to save the plant from being gathered into extinction by alchemists. This attempt often fails because the new soil and environment of often unsuitable for the plant to grow. If a certain plant variation has little plant patches left, or if the feyfolk encounters a patch that has very little plants left, this form has both the strength and delicacy necessary to replant the plant somewhere else. There are several Elder form feyfolk that keep track of what plants are on the brink of extinction and send out these feyfolk. These feyfolk have four wings and four "limbs" underneath their body that dig around the plant and can transport it, roots, soil and all, to it's new location.

Elder eyes form

These small flying feyfolk serve as the eyes of the elder forms. They seek out pure visual information and later relay these information to the external brains of the elder forms. These feyfolk literately look like a single eye with two wings. These feyfolk are "fed" by the elder forms and can never stray far from the elder before running out and needing to return to relay information and get fed. Variations on these forms that gather scents or sounds instead of visions do exist but are relatively rare. Rumour has it that at least a few elders have even employed variations that gather taste sensations.

Large forms

Almost all feyfolk forms on this page are large because that is what players in Heimr LARPs can actually play.

Explorer

The explorer form is the most human looking form of the feyfolk. Although still possessing the greenish bark like skin that most large feyfolk share, the explorer has a sleeker body and vocal cords to communicate with other races. The task the explorer has usually comes down to venture into non-forested area's to either find places to plant new forests, find news to bring back to the feyfolk community or learn new skills and gain experience to share with the feyfolk back home.

Tahordyn high priest form

Charismatic and biologically susceptible to divine energies this form is very adept at harvesting the energies produced by worship and sending it to Tahordyn. The classic variations of this form have green skin and glowing blue old feyfolk script embedded into it, detailing teachings of Tahordyn.

Destroyer Warform

The standard warform. This form simply makes the feyfolk hard to injure. The skin of this form is most likely made out of bark and stone. They tend to be larger than humans but because of the usual haste with which these are created they usually vary in appearance allot.

Scalerip Warform

During the war-like conflict between long ear forest and the gnomes, in which the gnomes sought to reclaim the holy birthplace of their race, this form was wildly popular. This greenish camouflaged form has two arms that end in claws designed to rip trough gnomes scale like flesh, this warform is also good at spotting hidden enemies with its enhanced eyes, an attempt to counter the gnomes sneaky nature. Lizardmen and merfolk also have scales and thus this form also has an easy time ripping their flesh.

Treemend wetmaid(en)

This form is a large form with fluid water-like skin in some places. Instead of dead trees this form its material comes from the water of clean clear springs. The job of this form is to bring nourishment and healing to dying, and sick trees, carrying the water in its veins to the dry tree. During droughts this forms sees many other uses as well.

Awe-striker Form

This form has a strange, captivating, illusionary, otherworldly appearance. So as to strike fear or dumbstruck awe into onlookers. They are used to distract, lure or taunt other races (or sometimes even unaware feyfolk). They usually also extrude pheromones designed to charm or frighten others.

Shroomgrow Shamanform

This feyfolk grows hallucinogenic fungi and spores on it's skin that the feyfolk can harvest and consume (or pass around) and is biologically susceptible to feel the presence of certain spirits. This makes this form an excellent shaman... even though some elders think it also makes them slightly more susceptible to being possessed by spirits.

Brewshaper Form

This feyfolk has within it's body the necessary tools to process alchemic ingredients. The fingers on it's left hand are various knifes and pliers, it's mouth functions as a mortar and pestle, it's feet are formed to press oils or fluids from ingredients, there are several seeves within compartmentalized parts of the gut that this form uses to filter ingredients, the stomach can cook ingredients as if it where a cauldron and lastly, the gasses that rise up from the stomach are distilled into a fluid that seeps from the back of this feyfolk. This feyfolk is geared to be an alchemist and is usually trained to find and process certain plants into usable potions.

Planteater Warform

This is a warform specifically designed to work in concert with the brewshaper in battle. The planteater is less susceptible to the toxins often employed by the brewshapers in their potions and powders, has a nose that is specifically designed to quickly and safely snort substances, and is a good warrior even without being enhanced by various potions. Some Planteater forms have bodies that further enhance or mutate the effects of potions in clever ways.
